Why Use Us...

Generally, the older the leather furniture the better the quality it is. The structures and springs are far superior to the quality of today. The leather was most likely properly tanned for years of use in Canada, Italy or Germany. Many older pieces that are faded and tired can be successfully cleaned and refinished to new condition that will last for another 15 to 20 years. Today with the current global economy it’s difficult to know where anything is made and the known constancy of quality does not exist anymore. Newer leather furniture is made to last on average 5- 7 years. Depending on the quality and environment leather can last longer. By using our services you can extend the value of your initial investment and be friendly to our environment.

 FAQs:

Concern:

In your gallery of before and after photos some of the furniture is too shiny. I don't want my furniture shiny!

Answer:

LOL. The majority of leather finishes are a Satin finish. Some of the photos in our gallery are high gloss.  We can apply finishes in Matte, Satin and high gloss.

* our photo flash intensifies the shine - they will not look that shiny under normal lighting conditions.

Question:

Will the colour rub off on our clothes?

Answer:

Absolutely not. All of our finishes are protected with a standard or Optional Wearguard topcoat which takes time to cure and protects the leather finishes.

Question:

Can you do this service in my home?

Answer:

Absolutely not. Professional leather refinishing cannot be done in one's home. The techniques and supplies used must be applied in a controlled environment. We provide pick up and delivery services at a moderate cost.

Question:

How do I take care of my furniture after the service?

Answer:

All of our finishes have maintenance free topcoats. No leather creams or cleaners should ever be applied. With LEATHER "less is more- when it comes to cleaning." Simply wipe them down with warm water every 4-6 months with very light pressure and let dry. ( if creams are used they can compromise the finishes - make the surface sticky, premature soiling and even dye transfer can occur.

Question:

How long does this service last?

Answer:

Refresh and Full Services are designed to last between 6-12 years (normal usage) depending on the thickness and added topcoats. We do have furniture that is still being used today that we have refinished 27 years ago. It really depends on how the furniture is used, and cared for. ( some use their furiture far beyond normal use. )

Question:

What is difference between the standard and *Optional Wearguard topcoat?

Answer:

The standard topcoat is the same as the manufacturers topcoat - "protected" for normal use.

The * Optional Wearguard topcoat has an special FRT additive for UV protection, is 5 times stronger than the standard topcoat, recommended for colour changes, and high use applications. ( it also has a longer warranty! )

Question:

Do you replace foam or perform structural repairs?

Answer:

Yes we do all repairs. Support foam can be replaced ( $ 65 per cushion ) or we can re-wrapping your existing foam ( $ 20 per cushion) for added support and extra plumpness.

Question

Does this service come with a warranty?

Answer:

Yes, it does. - please contact us at the first sign of any issue!

Standard protected furniture is warranted for 3 years from peeling, dye transfer or premature fading.

*Wearguard Protected furniture is warranted for 6 years against peeling, dye transfer or premature fading.(does not include pick up and delivery charges)

We warrant our finishes for half of their projected lifespan. Ultimately the longevity of the service depends on how the furniture is being used and cared for. Any signs of misuse, abuse or animal damages cannot be covered under the warranty. NOTE: The use of leather conditioners and if animal use is present any and all warranties on our leather finishes is void.

If a small accident does happen we usually cover it at a minimal cost to re-mix the colour.
